I'm totally bad at explaining how I want my hair done so if I were to print this picture off and show the hairdresser this:
http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff90/…
Would they think I'm being weird? and would they be able to do it?Would it be weird showing a hairdresser how I was my hair done?
It is definitely not weird - I do it - a lot of people do it, and the hairdresser would much prefer a picture than someone trying with words %26amp; gestures to describe the cut they want. Most of us can't explain it very well and the hairdresser may get a completely different idea from the one you're trying to describe. So it is the smart thing to do and it makes it so much easier for both you and the hairdresser. If the hairdresser doesn't think the hairstyle would suit your face - and the type of hair you have would also have to be considered, thickness and texture for instance - she/he would be able to suggest little changes to the hairstyle you want using the picture as a reference so that you both understand. You would get the hairstyle you're looking for, but cut to flatter your particular face shape and features. It would also be a good idea to bring pictures of other, different hairstyles that you like and discuss with your hairdresser which one would be the best suited for you.Would it be weird showing a hairdresser how I was my hair done?
No most hairdressers would prefer that you take a pic,
What better way to explain to your hairdresser how you want the style to look than with a picture, if they are a reputable hair stylist the style can be done. However, a good stylist will be honest and tell if the stlye is not for you, it is then up to you to either go with that style or try one that flatters your face. Good luck.
Of course not! They get it all the time, everyone does it. Anyway, if you can't explain it and that is the only way, it will probably help the hairdresser alot.
this is a great thing to do your hairdresser and you should always have a talk before anything happens...and no they don't think you're werid they actually enjoy someone who knows what they want but dont add pressure remember certain looks are meant for certain faces good luck!
No thats not weird at all, theres nothing wrong with showing a picture of the way you want your hair, atleast your sure and will get it the way you want.
Good luck.
It's always a good idea to take a picture in and show it to your stylist. The one problem with celeb pictures like that is that the hair has gone through a lot of styling, so it might be harder for your stylist to judge just how short to cut your hair. And if you want it to look like that you'll have to make sure you know how to achieve that look. There's nothing worse than trying to mimic a style and not being able to do it because you don't know how it was done.
A picture is worth a thousand words. How many hairstyle magazines do they have laying around in those places? A lot, and there's a reason for that. If you have a specific style you are looking for, a good hairstylist would much rather see a picture than have you try to describe it.
They wouldn't find that weird at all. Alot of people do that.
As long as you don't have shorter hair than the style you show them. That would make you seem crazy. (:
from my experience most of them prefer a picture.
no, they need to know how you want it done so they don't mess it up, and normally they have men/womens hair magazines there so that customers can say ';hey i want it to look like that and so forth'; it won't be wierd people do it all the time. and yes they should be able to do it if not (honestly and not to be mean) they shouldn't have a license that would be easy to do,
i think they prefer having a visual. i like to print pics and take them too.
No, of course not! That is all I ever do when I want something new. The hairdresser appreciates it and you are a lot more likely to get what you want. I think it's weird/not smart NOT to bring a photo!
AND they can tell u if a style would suit ur face and hair type. thats a nice cut u have chosen.
Thats not weird. Usually hair salons have magazines and hair books laying around so that you can do that. they want you to. I cut out pictures and bring them in all the time! It may not be exactly like the picture but they sure do try.
no not at all!! id say they will prefer you to show them a picture of what you want done incase they pick it up wrong and do the wrong style for you!!
um no. they want you to tell them that so they dont end up giving you a cut you dont like and then you ask for your money back.
no .. they would think its normal most people bring in pictures of styles the would like !!
hope this helps....xx!!
no they won't think ur weird. a picture is so much easier to use as a tool.
Definatly not they actually love it when people bring in photos. Many hairdressers are visual people having a picture just helps them even more.

How do i explain to my hairdresser what scene hair is?

Bring in a picture. Not all scene hair is the same, anyway, so you should find exactly what you want first, If you go to photobucket and type in ';scene hair'; you will find a lot of examples. How do i explain to my hairdresser what scene hair is?
If you have to explain it to your hairdresser then she does not know how to do it. A hairdressers JOB is to be up on the latest styles and trends.
Do you really want her learning on your head?
Go to a hairdresser who knows what it means and has experience doing it.
Go to a Beauty College, bring lots of pictures, ask for lots of layers. People in Beauty Colleges are younger so they'll understand what you want.
Print out this picture:

And say lots of layers on the top and longer layers on the bottem.
Just tell her that. It will help to also bring a picture to him/her.
Help please?

Does ayone know of a reputable hairdresser near Palo Alto, California?
I like to get weaves in my hair and find it hard to find a hairdresser that is able to pick up where my old hairdresser left off and only pick up the roots of the peices that are already highlighted.Does ayone know of a reputable hairdresser near Palo Alto, California?
I dont know any in particular but if you go to www.yelp.com you can put in Palo Alto and hair salon and there you can see other peoples reviews on particular hair salons. I'd start there and find a few that have good reviews then go to the actual salon and ask them whether they think they can pick up where the highlights have been left off, ask about their prices and then call later to make an appointment. Good luck (i have tried to have my highlights continued from where theyve grown out and the hair stylists have always screwed up, that was at a beauty school though so avoide those)
