Would home-dye work on roots after getting highlights in the hairdressers?

I have light-ish brown hair and I got blond highlights in the hairdressers about 2 months ago. My roots are showing up now and I don't want to have to pay professional prices every 2 months (i'm a student).

All though my hair is now blond, it isn't Platinum and it looks quit natural. If I colour my roots with a home-dye kit, will it look ok? Or will it look ridiculous?Would home-dye work on roots after getting highlights in the hairdressers?
Be careful. You could end up with orange roots! The stylist used a lightener/bleach to put those highlights in. Do you really think you can isolate select strands of your hair into foils and keep them from slipping? Highlights are not for doing at home unless you are using a cap and that can damage your hair because you can't keep the bleach off of the hair that has already been bleached. Just go back to the stylist and ask for a partial. That will take care of the top of your head. There isn't a haircoloring product around that will take your brown hair to blonde in one process. I hope this helped!Would home-dye work on roots after getting highlights in the hairdressers?
first off what color do you want your roots to be? And if your hair looks natural why not just leave it be.

yes they work, but you have to be very careful. I really suggest going to the hairdresser. Just have them do highlights on the top of your head, that should save you money. I don't know if they put you under a dryer, at home you won't have that heat to get the highlights to come light enough. They may be orange. be careful and good luck
